Remarks: This Gnat is on display outside the Red Arrows' hangar at their base at RAF Scampton. In fact, this particular aircraft never flew with the Team, serving between 1963 and 1975 at RAF Valley in Anglesey. Following a hard landing at Valley it was declared a write off, since which time it has been a gate guard and symbol of times gone by at the RAFAT HQ. Behind and to the left an aircraft tug is also painted in the team colours.
Remarks: This tiny Gnat is dwarfed by the surrounding aircraft, beautifully preserved in the colours of the Red Arrows. This aircraft first flew New Years day 1964.
Remarks: Subsequently damaged in a wheels up landing in a field 17th September 2004.
