Remarks: The 747 classic will always be the best looking out of all the 747 variants for me. Everything about them looks awesome, from the old PW JT9D engines to the earlier models that carried the wingtip-mounted HF antennas. The classics managed to make the Dragonair scheme look decent!
Remarks: B-KAA seen here hauling cargo for Dragonair back when the classic was still an economical choice for freight operators. I think the classics are just about my favorite aircraft to photograph & it’s sad there are barely any operators left now. B-KAA was originally a Singapore Airlines -312M (9V-SKP) before being converted to a freighter for Dragonair.
Remarks: Dragonair Cargo ended operations in mid-2009 & merged with CX Cargo after the latter’s acquisition of Dragonair. B-KAF was the last freighter to leave the fleet & after being stored in Victorville was re-activated by Cathay Cargo.
B-KAF was originally delivered to SQ as a -412 9V-SMM in '92.
Remarks: ex Singapore Airlines 747. converted to freighter in 1999 and operating from 2001 for Dragonair Cargo. Regular visitor in Amsterdam for years. Nowadays in storage at Victorville.
