Remarks: The Rudra (Hindu god of Storms) is an armed version of the Advanced Light Helcopter. The chopper was formally handed over to the Indian Army during Aero India 2013. Rudra is armed with a swing 20mm French Nexter gun, air-to-air and air-to-ground short range missiles and a 70mm rocket system. It is also equipped with the SAAB Integrated Defensive Aids Suite (IDAS) with Electronic Warfare self-protection fully integrated into the glass cockpit.
Remarks: Inducted in the 60's the Mi-4 was a vital component of the Indian Airforce helicopter fleet and performed extensive rescue operations during and post the Indo-China War of 1962.Seen here is a well preserved Mi-4 in VIP livery,of the AHQCS.
Remarks: Shot in the last light of day as Airforce personnel wait to board a Chetak chopper. The SA 316B is the 'Alouette III' developed by Sud Aviation (SA) in the late 1960s. Later HAL obtained a license to build the chopper and called it the 'Chetak'. HAL has built over 300 Chetaks till date.
Remarks: Taxing to RWY 09 for take off. The aircraft belongs to the 'Fixed Wing Training Faculty (FWTF)' at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bangalore. The Indian Airforce operates a fleet of 28 Dornier-228s, with an additional 14 on order. The aircraft is manufactured at HAL Kanpur under license from Dornier.
Remarks: The second Technology Demonstrator (TD-2) for the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) sporting pixelated army camoflague colors is on static display at Aero India 2013. TD-1 was part of the flying display at the air show.
