Remarks: Port side view of A330-203 (MRTT) Serial Number MRTT004 (Cn 1036, to be RAAF A39-004 on delivery) taxying North past the Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal before taking off for Las Vegas on 24Aug2011. (The A330-203 crossed the International Date Line near Hawaii, and arrived at Las Vegas on 24Aug11.) The RAAF has ordered five 'Multi-Role Tanker Transports', to replace 33 Squadron's Boeing 707-338C Tanker/Transports, which were retired in June 2008. This aircraft is still in 'primer paint', pending 'surface finishing' in low-viz grey livery (in Europe). The RAAF MRTT (KC-30A) aircraft are being 'fitted out' at the Qantas Defence Services facility at Brisbane airport, after construction of the airframes on the A330 production line at Toulouse in France. The third aircraft (A39-003) was used for Flight Trials and Air to Air Refuelling (AAR) Trials in Spain, before delivery to the RAAF at Amberley on 02Jun2011, and A39-002 was delivered on 22Jun2011.
