Remarks: A truly historic moment as this old workhorse slowly rolls towards its final resting place at the Hagerstown Aviation Museum after completing its final flight from St. Louis. The Flying Boxcar had to be marshalled in because the taxiway was not wide enough to accommodate the main gears. It was bitterly cold and my fingers were almost too frozen to press the shutter button, but seeing this plane (and hearing that sound!) put a big smile on my face. Dedicated to the Fairchild employees who built and helped maintain these planes for so many years!
