Remarks: In 2003 Mayor of Chicago issued a decision about CGX closing. Immediatelly runway was digged and about 50 a/c were not able to get out of CGX. Couple days later FAA made a decision to use taxiway as a runway. That was the end of Meigs Field Airport. At the picture you can see terminal and control tower. At the airfield area now u can walk because there is a park... I hope in the future CGX will be recovered.
