Remarks: Emirates 777-300ER engine and landing gear up close. It always makes me stop and look when i see just how low these engines appear to sit on the wing. It looks like it's almost touching the floor. (1dmkii/100-400LIS)
Remarks: BMI Jungle Jet taxing into stand after arrival into MAN. Shot from the Aviation Viewing Park. A nice spot to get some up close shots of the passing traffic. A fellow photographer can be seen on the other side of the field. (1dmkii/100-400LIS)
Remarks: Shot from the AVP at Manchester Airport. There was quite a bit of traffic around the GA/Private ramp that day including this Golden Eagle and Gulfstream G-V. I still maintain that the Gulstream is my favourite Biz Jet. Here it dwarfs the Golden Eagle in size and the angle of view makes it look like they are sat on top of each other. (1dmkii/100-400LIS)
Remarks: Back to the archives here. Manchester used to have this sole 767-300 from BA based there operating a daily MAN-JFK service. This service stopped back in 2008 i think during BA's route cutting away from it's home hub, Heathrow. Here is BNWI departing 24R on a cloudy afternoon. (1dmkii/100-400LIS)
Remarks: A shot of the lovely special schemed A332 of Qatar Airlines. This was one of a series of special liveries that were adorned to their A330's to mark the fact that Qatar was the official airlines of the 15th Asian Games in Doha. Looking great against a dark moody sky in the short blast of sunshine that came out for this specials departure. (1dmkii/100-400LIS)
Remarks: One of the best things about waiting so long to edit your photos is you find stuff like this. As most of you know Excel Airways went bust a few summers ago and as such are no longer an airline in the UK. Here is one of their 738's without winglets departing Manchester at speed. Looking good and actually a rather nice scheme, shame you can no longer shoot them! (1dmkii/100-400LIS)
Remarks: One of the now gone special scheme Qatar A330's departing Manchester in some classic Manchester conditions! I never managed to catch all of these special jets but this one looked great rotating. Impressive wingspan! (1dmkii/100-400LIS)
Remarks: An interesting departure from this BMI A330, it got caught it a crosswind gust and as such got blown rather off balance. Departing 24R here to make it's way to Chicago, back in the days of BMI offering a semi decent service to the USA! This bird is now operating for Turkish airlines i believe.(1dmkii/100-400LIS)
