Remarks: Stbd side view of the (then) latest Linfox Property Group Agusta helicopter Registered as VH-FOX, arriving at the 2009 Australian International Airshow at Avalon on Friday 13Mar2009. This A109S Grand (Cn 22081) was first registered on 09Sep08, taking on Lindsay Fox's VH-FOX registration from the previous Agusta A109S Grand Cn 22015. In 2012, the Registration VH-FOX had migrated to A109E Power helo Cn 22220. ( I believe that Linfox Property Group owns Avalon Airport.) Photo taken on Friday 13th March 2009.
Remarks: Canadian 'Coulson Aircrane' S-61N C-FMAY Cn 61363 (Code 347), with water pump hose extended, during a demo flight at Avalon Victoria in 2009. This type of Fire-Fighting helicopter was needed in Canberra in the week before the Firestorm on 18Jan2003. The Tenth Anniversary of this bushfire disaster was commemorated in Canberra on 18Jan2013.
Remarks: A nice selection of stuff stored in the Californian desert sitting basking in the sunshine. Lots of Boeing's and not many Airbus's which is a shame. Some great historic liveries can be seen here. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: Now this was a great thing to find, here are a large amount of stored Tri-Stars on the ramp at KVCV. With 5 L-1011's, 2 DC-10's and then another few 747's and MD10's in the background this makes for a great photo for anyone who likes the aircraft graveyards. Personally i love the tristars and think it's such a shame they are few and far between now. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: This was a nice catch to find in the California desert. Here sits an old BAE Systems F4 Phantom which has had all of it's titles removed however it is looking very freshly painted. Looking great against a clear blue sky that's deep in colour! (5D2/17-40F4L)
Remarks: Back in 2009 this was a common sight at LAX. Nowadays, a 744 from ANZ is much harder to see as they are gradually retiring them in favour of the newer 773ER. This particular frame, NBV is still operating for them along with one other airframe. NBV vacates the runway after arrival at KLAX in the lovely sunshine. Named 'Christchurch' (5D2/100-400LIS)
Remarks: Oasis Hong Kong was an all business class airline that operated for a short time before the recession and low uptake of the service caused the airline to fold and go out of business. Here is one of the 744 sitting at Victorville in the beautiful Californian weather awaiting it's fate. Shot through the fence and thankfully it came out pretty well! (5D2/17-40F4L)
Remarks: Now this was a nice catch on my brief trip to Victorville. Thankfully this 757-300 was parked in a position where we could get a nice uncluttered photo of it. To get this vantage point did involve using the rental car as a shooting platform however! Oh well, thankfully it went back with no dents in the roof and we all got a good shot in the bag! Happy days! (5D2/17-40F4L)
Remarks: On arrival into Mojave Air and Space Port you are greeted with this beast! The NASA CV990! It looks fantastic sat in the Californian sun. Here it is up close and personal, shot with my 17mm lens on my full frame 5D2 you can really appreciate the size of this thing. It was really great to be able to get up so close to it and walk underneath it. It's only doing this you can really get just how big it is! (5D2/17-40F4L)
Remarks: Great weather at Victorville today! Was lucky enough to find this lovely looking 762 sat on the ramp in the cali sunshine awaiting it's fate! This bird used to be regular in the UK operating an all Business Class service between the UK-Europe. Unfortunately the business model didn't quite work out and Silverjet went out of business. Still, the livery looks great on this 767! A great catch in my eyes! Former Reg was G-SJET. (5D2/17-40F4L)
