Remarks:Stored outside the Darwin Aviation Museum on a very hot morning in the Top End. This aircraft crashed on the 24th of April 1984 after the wheels malfunctioned and both pilots safely ejected and has been stored here since 1994. 1200px [Canon 50D]
Remarks:An overview of the Military side of Darwin International featuring 2 RAAF P-3 Orions and 6 Singapore Air Force F-15's which were conducting various amounts of training excersizes based out of Darwin. Also out of frame were two Japan Defence Force P-3's parked at the southern end of the field. 1200px [Canon 50D]
Remarks: Mirages A3-73 and A3-65 share the 75 Squadron apron with a 75KVA Ground Power Unit at RAAF Base Darwin in 1984. The closer aircraft: A3-73 has a 75 Squadron tail flash – while A3-65 has a 2OCU tail flash. (A3-73 was built by GAF in Feb 1967.) The apron is actually made of inter-locking aluminium alloy panels, in lieu of the usual bitumen or concrete. (Note iconic water tower at rear.) Low res photo.
