Remarks: My friend John taxiing his old Champ out. He originally owned this airplane 59 years ago, last summer he found it for sale in Southern Alabama. Three days later he and I flew a Cessna 170 down, hopped in this and ferried it 800 miles back to Eagle Crest!
Remarks: My neighbor and good friend Ralph taxiing in after a short flight. He was taken from us on July 10th, 2005 while practicing for an airshow with his aerobatic team, "The Vultures", his aircraft collided with N78LC over the bay killing both him and his good friend Jay. May the both of you rest in peace, we'll all miss you.
Remarks: Taken on very short final for runway 32. You can really make out the large hill 500 feet down the runway. You come over that road at about 10 feet, any lower and you may very well hit a car!
Remarks: I've managed to fly everything from Citations to Jetrangers and this '57 Cub still ranks number one on my list of most desired planes! Taken after our early evening flight.
Remarks: My buddy staring me down as he buzzes over my head at dusk. The wingtip was only feet from my head! I was only 1000 feet down the runway and he's already got the gear on the way up.
Remarks: A very, very clean 172. The gadgets on the yoke are all pretty interesting. On the left side is the electric trim and autopilot disconnect button (rather unusual in a plane from the 60's) and on the right side is something I've never seen before. It's a hat switch that will switch the radio frequencies for you. Pushing it down to the left swaps the Nav 1 to the frequency you had on standby and the other three directions do similar things.
