Remarks: London Olympics 2012. This location is best known as 'The Mound' at Stansted, and just allows runway photos to be taken over the fence. This is the one of the most popular spotting locations at the airport, to the West of the airfield, best for photography after about 2pm. Stansted is mostly Ryanair or Easyjet these days, but every now and then you get a gem, as can be seen in this image. Today was the day after the Olympics opening ceremony, and thanks have to be passed to the police, security services and local spotters for establishing short-term sensible procedures to make it possible to enjoy the movements at the airport.
