Remarks: A rare overview of Manston as we climb out from RWY27, with a ex-Kuwait Airways 747 parked in storage along with an Embraer Legacy and a 707. Manston has been a sleepy mainly cargo airport for many years since EU Jet suspended operations in 2005. However, things are looking up at KLM have recently announced a service to AMS - you can see the passenger terminal at the top right of the shot.
Remarks: It was a very long drive down to the South Coast for this DC8 but well worth all the effort as it is in pristine condition , but i am not sure if this is to be its final resting place
Remarks: A great view of Manston airport, situated on the east Kent coastline. Having completed an ILS/Go-Around procedure we are now being radar vectored for another approach. Check out the incredible width of the original runway.
