Remarks: A nice Valhalla Helicopters JetRanger taking off from the Salmon Arm Airport. This machine is based out of their new Kelowna Heliport. Another first for the database.
Remarks: An Ascent Bell 212 landing to pick up 7 rapelling crew after their decent from the hovering helicopter. This chopper is contracted to the BC Forest Service for fire fighting using the Initial Attack concept. This involves a 3 person rappelling crew and a self filling belly tank for water bombing and to supply water to the crew once they are on the ground. This method is most useful for fighting fires set by lighting strikes.
