Remarks: Here lies the famous boneyards at Victorville, with three (and a half) ex-Cathay 747 aircraft shown toward the right, a few FedEx freighters, and a World MD11 (1200x800 pixels).
Remarks: A close-up view of the main complex ramp at Victorville, apparently for new aircraft arrivals. Upon close inspection, you can clearly see airliners from Singapore, Delta, FedEx, Thomas Cook, USAir, GOL, AreoGal, Blue Panorama, United and many Mexicana aircraft off to the left. Also note in the very lower left corner is the front of the famous Orbis DC10 Flying Eye Hospital. Did they finally say goodbye to their old faithful DC10? (1200x800 pixels)
Remarks: Victorville's chopping block. Look carefully and you can see several former Delta L1011s, an ANA B767 and a Martinair B767, as well as two DC8s. Also notice the pile of landing gear struts (1200x800 pixels).
Remarks: Here is a view of runway 3-21 at Victorville, looking approximately northeast at midday from 5000 feet. Looking at the main building/ramp complex on the right, you can clearly see new jets which have just arrived, many of which still have titles and full color schemes. Additionally, at the far right edge, at the center of the image, notice there are two trijets visible, the top of which is the famous Orbis DC10 Flying Eye Hospital. (1200x800 pixels)
Remarks: A nice selection of stuff stored in the Californian desert sitting basking in the sunshine. Lots of Boeing's and not many Airbus's which is a shame. Some great historic liveries can be seen here. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
Remarks: Now this was a great thing to find, here are a large amount of stored Tri-Stars on the ramp at KVCV. With 5 L-1011's, 2 DC-10's and then another few 747's and MD10's in the background this makes for a great photo for anyone who likes the aircraft graveyards. Personally i love the tristars and think it's such a shame they are few and far between now. (5D2/70-200F2.8LIS)
