Remarks: I dedicate this to my girlfriend who had the audacity to call the 767-300 a "small" aircraft when she found out that we would be flying on one to San Jose on a 4 hour flight. I thought I trained her better than that, perhaps I should commit seppuku. This one was going to Sydney by the way.
Remarks: After spending the night sleeping on a bench in the airport, I figured I may as well do some spotting in the last 6 hours of my layover. This bad boy is coming in from Maui, where I photographed it 3 days prior.
Remarks: As we cruise over Yosemite National Park flying from Fresno to Las Vegas, the engine cowling indulges any curiosity of what the aircraft looks like as it zips through the sky. One of the reasons I love the bro.
Remarks: I spent about an hour watching planes that evening and can honestly say I didn't see any airliner that wasn't made by Embraer. And I only saw 2 airlines come in that weren't owned by Republic. The end is near.
Remarks: And just before dark arrives what I came to see. The E135 still operating in the colors of the carrier formerly known as Midwest. This is the first shot of the aircraft in these colors and first shot of "Midwest/Frontier/Republic/Brian Bedford's Monster airline" in SDF. The aircraft was once opperated by Expressjet and then stored in Kingman until Chautauqua picked it up recently to fly out of MKE onbehalf of Midwest.
Remarks: The mighty junglejet, and first shot in the DB of this one in the UAX colors. One may notice an uncomfortably large number of ERJs in SDF. Other than the intimidation factor, this is because Republic has a MX base in SDF and ERJ parts are easy to come by in Lulhvulh.
Remarks: Just another Southwest 737 coming in from MDW...but wait! Is that? Oh em gee! It is! WIFI! Yup, Southwest axed the Tinkerbell stickers and then fitted the plane with wifi. The aicraft should soon be getting its man card back.
