Remarks: Since de-orbit burn, she has lost approx 555,000 ft of altitude, 16,500 mph and traveled 5060 miles. Approach & landing airspeed at 10,000 ft is approx. 290 knts airspeed, 7.9 miles from touchdown. Autoland guidance is initiated to guide her to the - 19- to 17-degree glide slope aimed at a target approx. 1 mile in front of the runway. Emerging from the last heading alignment cylinder, she is being flown manually by Commander Alan Pointdexter. She plunged thru fire to get here hence the effects show!
Remarks: A view down on the Northern side of the airport, taken from my Cessna during the UK airspace closure. Here you can see the old terminal which Harrod's Aviation now uses as it's executive terminal, there's a few biz-jets down there along with a UAE 747, Roman Abramovich's 767 and a couple of the Titan fleet.
Remarks: The Cessna 310 is one of the rarer Cessna types, and with production starting in 1953 made it Cessna's first twin engine design after WWII. A nice catch here at North Weald.
