Remarks: I wonder why this bird comes to Aero India. As in 2009, it was parked in the static display area, the doors were not open, no tour inside the plane and there was no one from Omega around the aircraft.
Remarks: Static display at Aero India 2011. One of two F-18 Super Hornets that the US Navy / Boeing sent to India for the airshow.
The F-18 is a contender for the Indian Air Force's Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) contract and my personal favorite.
This aircraft belongs to the Strike Fighter Squadron 122 (VFA-122), also known as the "Flying Eagles".
Remarks: Photo shot from the Press / VIP platform.
This one shot captures how India has become a lucrative market for all types of aircraft manufacturers. The ramp (particularly the Business Jets area) was jam packed with aircrafts parked almost wing to wing in two rows.
In the shot, a US Air Force C130J Hercules, two SAABs, the MMRCA contenders, lot of business jets and towards the far end the KC-135, C-17 and Omega Tanker.

Remarks: Engine exhaust of the F-16. We always try to get side and front shots. Hence wanted to take a shot from the back.
