Remarks: A view of the Century Blvd entrance to LAX. The old ATC tower can be seen as well as the large American service hanger in the background. Both arrivals and departures are accessible here as the signage indicates. The entrances of the departure concourses for AA, DL, and UA are visible as well. These lighted pillars have alternating colors and are only synchronized every so often for a few moments. I was anxious to capture an image with all of them radiating the same color. Bravo to the City of Los Angeles for the pride taken in the appearance of this magnificent airport. 1400 Pixels Wide!
Remarks: The daily Tahiti 340 outbound to Paris and in a hurry 31 minutes late as she crosses the Las Vegas valley at full altitude headed northeast directly above the airport and pulling a massive wake of vapor behind her. For me it is always a pleasure to see this bird as it is the best looking scheme on a 340-300. Incredibly clear conditions today allowed for easy reading of the registration under the wing. Photo taken at 420mm from the ground. 1400 Pixels Wide!
Remarks: A long rotation out 25R pulling a surprising trail of smoke off the mains. The WN 73G below the main gear must be inbound to BUR as I cannot think of anywhere else it could be descending into that far away. Too low and too far to be in the approach pattern for LAX.
