Remarks: Rare low-res Wing View from Lufthansa's Second Boeing 747 at Kai Tak in 1974. A Cathay Pacific Boeing 707-351C (VR-HG*) is unloading passengers, and A Swissair DC-8 tail is visible at rear. (Note the Trolley-Bus for departing passengers.) Lufthansa Boeing 747-130 D-ABYB took me to Hong Kong from Frankfurt, via Athens, Kuwait, Delhi and Bangkok. D-ABYB (City of Hessen, Del: 13Apr1970) was the first civil Boeing 747 to crash - on 20Nov1974 at Nairobi Airport Kenya, sadly with the loss of 59 lives (RIP). Apologies for the low quality of this 35 year old photo.
Remarks: Another 1st for the database is N8888B. This one was ex Garuda and later registered B-18577. Today she is flying for Air Macau Cargo as B-MBJ.

Remarks: ready roll on Runway 13 back to CPH. Sadly SK no longer fly to Hong Kong. In this view you can see the tower, terminal and the famous car park. Its now been almost 11 years since this amazing airport closed.
