Remarks: Sitting on the Donair ramp at NEMA. It was interesting to watch the aircraft rocking in the wind, making the aircraft look so fragile.
Thanks to fellow jp.net photographer Sam McCrimmon for giving me the opportunity to take these photos!
Remarks: It is unusual to see active DHL aircraft during daylight hours at EMA/EGNX - this ex-BA 757 is being towed back into its parking bay after conducting full power engine runs on the other side of the DHL ramp
Remarks: Taxiing in to its parking spot after its display at the Southend Airshow 2006. Seconds after this photo was taken, the aircraft turned, blasting me with hot jet exhaust.
Remarks: Preparing for its display at the Southend Airshow 2006. Being cold and damp at the time, it was nice to experience the 4 Allison turboprop engines firing up right in front of me.
Remarks: I don't think that there is anything more poignant or symbolic on this aircraft than seeing that the 'Remove Before Flight' tape and pin is in place - it is never going to be removed again. So sad.
Remarks: Just visible below the right wing is part of the DHL hub facilities and ramp, which, at the time, was being shared by a couple of DHL aircraft, a Gemini Air Cargo MD11 and the An225. Leased to and operated by Air Contractors.
