Remarks: An exposure time of aproximetly 45 minutes showing departures out of OSL and stars moving across the night sky in 18 degrees C below zero this last night of November. This is one of the best spots at Gardermoen for approaching / landing aircraft and provides a good overview of the western runway and most of the airport itself. The airport buildings is not included in this photograph in favor of keeping the stars visible. Shot with a 15mm Fisheye lens on a 5D2 [Google Earth 60°12'46.72"N 11° 5'4.07"E]
Remarks: This time I did manage to get the registration of the AF340 ... F-GNIG... The photographer / soldier on the right is carrying quite some Canon ammunition .......
Remarks: Casting her reflection on the waterlogged ground, HL7465 is seen here coming in over the perimeter fence on short final with the maintenance hangars at Hatton Cross below and to the right. As busy as this green can get on sunnier days (Click Here to view), it can often be fairly desolate on overcast or rainy days. Of course, those days can also have their highlights! Situated at the end of Myrtle Avenue, the green can easily be reached by a few minutes walk westwards from the tube and bus station at Hatton Cross. At time of writing this is the #1 location for arrivals to 27L where focal lengths of between 50-200mm (non full-frame DSLRs) will accommodate aircraft sizes from biz-jets through to A340-600s. Remarks: An very close and low encounter with the Irish Airline. She wears a very appropriate registration too! This photo gives a lot of details of LAX surroundings!
Remarks: Neil (Nikon man) is flying Kilo Romeo on finals to runway 33L. First night cockpit shot with my new Canon 5D MkII + Zenitar 16mm Fisheye. 3200 ISO, 1", f11.
Remarks: Fire on engine two after a compressor failure, a lot of smoke seen in this shot and a bit of fire, didn't get the large flame coming out, sorry. Landing was successful and everybody was ok, photo was bought by most of the local newspapers and two tv stations here, very very scary stuff. Remarks: Departing Runway 9 for Paris this heavy Airbus sacrifices climb performance to turn away from the hills. Written off in Toronto five months after this shot.
