Remarks: This was the highlight on a day with some very nice traffic! ET MD-11Fs are rare in Hong Kong because we almost always get the wet-leased Southern Air 747s, and earlier in the year we got their 777F. It's amazing what the photogenic tri-jet can do to simple schemes like this one as it looks great on the MD-11 & far better than on their other aircraft types.
This aircraft started its life with with Sabena & interestingly was the last passenger MD-11 ever built.
Remarks: 8K301 departing from Changi’s 20R bound for Jakarta. K-Mile is Transmile Air Services’ Thai subsidiary and their fleet comprises of a few ex-Transmile 727s. It’s great that these aging 727s still have a niche in the cargo market considering there are many more efficient and cheaper alternatives available out there at bargain prices.
Remarks: Lion Air taxiing to 02L for takeoff. Lion Air, the largest airline in Indonesia, is also one of the more ambitious airlines in the region with a large number of 737s still on order.
Remarks: OX203 leaving for Bangkok. It’s not common for it to be this clear & blue outside of summer in HKG but it does happen from time to time in autumn & early winter.
HS-UTW is one of many ex-JAL aircraft OX acquired over the years to expand their fleet.
This hobby just won't be the same when all the 747 classics are gone in a few years...
Remarks: CZ310 slowing down after landing in Hong Kong. While not as beautiful as other aircraft types in my opinion, the size of this plane never ceases to amaze me.
