Remarks: The second Avient MD11F to join the fleet, replacing the ill fated sistership which crashed attempting to takeoff from Shanghai's Pudong airport.
Remarks: March is fog time for much of Hong Kong and Macau. Hong Kong's airport does not seem to suffer too badly, but Macau does. Today there were a bunch of diversions from neighbouring Macau including two VIVA Macaus which is a nice sight for us!
Remarks: First photo in the database of Tiger's newest addition to the fleet. With their recent fleet expansion they have started flying into Hong Kong to compete with their own parent company; Singapore Airlines.
Remarks: With the pilot taking a good look at the taxyway he is aiming for, the nice light makes this small Gulfstream look quite attractive despite the 'toucan' nose.
Remarks: I never thought the day would come, but the 747 is actually becoming more of an unusual sight for me, even at major airports! Always nice to get photos of one in good light.
Remarks: One of two ex-Hong Kong Airlines 737-800s now flying in this hybrid scheme for Hong Kong Express (Which normally has a white tail and no mustache.)
Remarks: Dragonair have recently increased their cleaning frequency for their planes which is great news seeing many of them were looking particularly grubby. Already the differences are obvious as this day I did not see a single grubby looking Dragonair compared to the normal 50%+!
Remarks: A great looking scheme and a quirky idea which I like is the gold striping on the engines. If you look closely, the left engine has four gold stripes because that is the Captain's side, and the right engine has three stripes for the First Officer's side!
Remarks: The second of a batch of ex-ATA 757-300s to be overhauled, painted and installed with winglets for Continental by HAECO of Hong Kong. Seen here departing on it's delivery flight via Guam to the US.
Remarks: Fedex have at least 5 flights a day to Hong Kong on average yet I do not often manage a photo of them because of their night movements. I got lucky with this one though!
