Remarks: Unusual visitor apparently arrived all the way from Austrailia. Unsure of ownership whether this is still US owned or now to Aussies since prominent US markings now removed from aircraft.
Remarks: Azores Glider taking off as the daylight fades. Forest fires in the BC created the haze which gave the extra punch of reddish glow of sunlight to blank white airframes such as this one here.
Remarks: Transfered from the oldie, the airline keeps the registrations of the retired classics and reuses them for their new additions. Newest addition to the fleet..
Remarks: Another airline to return this year is Japan Airlines. Even better to still see one of its older colours still flying around.
Only a few years ago, asian carriers like this were unthinkable in this city, how times change as these are now expected every year now on.
Remarks: Wow, easily the longest airplane recognizable anywhere over the city. What a gorgeous jet, it seems hard to imagine that Calgary now gets daily/multiple triple 7 flights. Just even a year back sights like this was only relied on diversions and sweet dreams.
Remarks: Hectic and busy as it was, all that stress just flew away into the Snohomish air after those doors opened up to reveal the Dreamliner fresh at its best. The Trent 1000's with their wavy fan design will be one of many to prove its effectiveness in reducing carbon footprint on our planet.
Currently shes in the hangar undergoing systems installation and won't come out until the first ground tests.
Remarks: The 787 testbed aircraft with the first ever Trent 1000 engine. Its very large and very hungry when injected with fuel. At the same time, very quiet and well mannered to make life easier for its mechanics. Weighs about 12000lbs.
Remarks: This along with two RAF transports were here that day to pick up troops. Possibly Prince Harry among one of them after that wild night out earlier the week which spread all over due to that busty bimbo telling the tabloids.
Remarks: A close up look of what would be the second incidient of this sort in as many months. #236 is about to land after suffering a flat on one of the inside tire of the main gear. Only visual cues are some torn pieces of rubber sticking out. Upon touchdown it taxied to the gate tailed by fire trucks and all was fine. The event was not as serious as what the news said later that evening.
Remarks: Mad-Dog 80 on the roll back to Dallas.
Monday the 26th, had a special surprise an AA Triple 7 on a diversion. Fellow photographers Bill and Chris covered it visit. Lookin forward to your shots guys.
Remarks: Since the late 1990's Monarch has been serving this city every year. I believe they first started back in 1999; another routine flight departing to Gatwick.
Remarks: Now a common sight are regular flights by AM. A long time ago they had 767s serve here from Mexico City also on charters. I'd see it parked at the terminal when I was just into watching planes.
