Remarks: A rare sight over Brisbane indeed, especially for this time of the year being summer! By the time I spotted this large passenger aircraft, I was unable to identify the owner as they flew over Brisbane heading to who knows where, however I thought the trailer left in its wake which stretched to the horizon was very spectacular!
Remarks: Looking forlorn as she sits with her fading paintwork, this wonderful old lady would never fly again. She was purchased for spares and her registration cancelled in March 1975, (you can still make out the Carib West titles on her fuselage). Starting life in the military as 42-92326, this aircraft had a spell in europe as F-BEFN before heading back home and flying as N16399. The twilight of her career saw her plying her trade in the sunny caribbean...................R.I.P.
Remarks: Languishing in the caribbean sun, this grand old lady will not take to the skies again. She once flew for Carib West before being sold and used for spares, her registration being cancelled in March 1975. She started her days as 42-92326 before going to Europe and flying as F-BEFN. Her twilight years saw her returning to the USA as N16399 before heading out to Barbados to finish her days in the sun......................R.I.P.
