Remarks: The IAR 80 was a Romanian built World War II low-wing, monoplane, all-metal construction, fighter and ground-attack aircraft. When it first flew, in 1939, it was comparable to most contemporary designs like the German Bf 109E, the British Hawker Hurricane and the Supermarine Spitfire. However, production problems and lack of available armament delayed entry of the IAR 80 into service until 1941. It remained in front-line use till 1944. This replica was built in the 1980`s, more or less accurate, at IAR Ghimbav.
Remarks: IS 3d was a romanian single seated performance and competition glider. 7 meters long and 15 meters wide, it was designed by Iosif Silimon and built in the 1950`s at IAR Ghimbav. First picture in DB.
Remarks: Romanian designed single-seat agricultural aircraft. In 1981, the IAR-827 prototype was re-engined with a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprop and redesignated first as the IAR-827TP and later as the IAR-828. His first flight was on September 7th 1981. Plans to produce the aircraft either with the Pratt & Whitney Canada engine or a Walter 601 never materialised. This is the only IAR-828 ever built, registered to Romania Air Force.
