Remarks: Delta Jets Hunter T.7s G-FFOX & G-BXKF, painted as Black Arrows and Blue Diamonds aircraft respectively, are seen here in formation with two 43 Squadron Tornado F.3s (one of which is ZE887) to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Royal Air Force at the Kemble Air Day. It is 54 years since the Hunter entered service, and most Hunters underwent maintenance throughout their service careers here at Kemble.
Remarks: This was the last Hurricane built (1944) and was used by Hawkers as a company hack, painted overall blue and registered G-AMAU. In 1950 it was entered in the Kings Cup Air Race by Princess Margaret and flown by Gp Capt Peter Townsend. It joined the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, then at Coltishall, in 1972.
