Remarks: This 1974 Strikemaster is owned by Mark Petrie of nearby Ruthin. Although it wears RSAF colours it originally served with the Sultan of Oman Air Force, registered 417. One of eight Strikemasters on the British civil register, it is seen here lifting off from Runway 19 for its display at the Valley Aviation Society charity photo-call
Remarks: This Belgian F-16 is seen here pulling g over the crowd line at the Valley Aviaton Society charity photo-call, manifesting the characteristic chine vortex of the type. This view shows to advantage the semi-prone pilot position with sidestick controls which enables the pilot to keep his arms by his sides and minimize movement as he undergoes loads of up to 9g. (Note the maps in his knee pockets)
Remarks: The cloudless sky over Anglesey on the day of the Valley Aviation Society charity photo call was actually very full of water which condensed dramatically during the high-speed g-pulling of the Tornadoes during the RAF role demonstration bombing runs. This 13 Squadron aircraft carries a BOZ-107 chaff and flare dispenser under the right wing-tip and a Sky Shadow 2 ECM pod under the left, with Sidewinder acquisition rounds on the drop-tank pylons.
