Remarks: Cherokee based at St. Barts ditched near the SUNSET BEACH BAR short of runway 09 Dec. 30th 2006. The pilot survived without serious injury. The plane was salvaged the 6th. and towed through the Simpson Bay Lagoon drawbridge and brought ashore near the airport.

The ceremony featured the Queen pushing the button that unveiled the new PRINCESS JULIANA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT sign. Nearly 2 1/2 years have passed since the first pile was driven to commence construction. Just HAD to be there!
