Remarks: 2006 HEINEKEN REGATTA closes down Tuesday but not before another load of party goers are welcomed to MAHO BEACH where the non-stop party is fuelled by $1.00 "greenies" from the popular SUNSET BEACH BAR.
Remarks: Korean Airlines gave the Hong Kong spotters plenty of special landings but this was one of the best I saw. He was way to fast and as you can see that right wingtip is rather low!! This one could have created a new street in Kowloon city. SEE MY NEW PHOTOS AT FLICKR
Remarks: Exciting approach. We were 35 miles out, 15000 feet, Captain decided to do a engine failure test and try reaching TFN with engines on idle. This pic shows 1500 feet above the rwy, 15 down angle and 0% torque. The landing was perfect. Great Binter Pilots!! Watch the next photo in the sequence HERE or watch the whole sequence HERE
Remarks: KAI TAK. Now very much the most famous picture I have taken... Picture can be found on the covers of various books and DVD's. However that's now not a good thing as B/W copies of this pic are now on sale here in HKG for US$ 15... $Y#%&*&$%#!!!! SEE MY NEW PHOTOS AT FLICKR
Remarks: What can I say, Awesome place, Awesome group of people to go with, Awesome sight. St. Maarten's trade mark is low approaches but once again check this out, only a foot away from the fence and people head. Not too many times you see guys ducking on the ground.
Remarks: **Photo 3 of 3** Malaysian Airlines saying good bye to Kai Tak with a bang. You can see a small spark under the right engine as it hits the runway !!
Remarks: Seen about one hour after the accident, B-165 languishes forlornly in Kowloon Bay with emergency slides deployed and Emergency Services in attendance, having run off the end of Runway 13 during Tropical Storm "Ira".
Remarks: People were really sand-blasted from behind with this 27 departure.I know not technically perfect but how often do you get to snap an airborne 747 30ft above you.
