Remarks: Flight BA193 to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW/KDFW) departs runway 27L. This aircraft is wearing the Dreamflight banner, in recognition of the charity that has been taking seriously ill and disabled children on life-changing Orlando holidays annually since 1987.
Remarks: After 4 rejections, finally got this through! Sporting 'Dreamflight' multi-colored titles, this 'Queen of the Skies' comes into land over Mumbai's 'Maho Beach'! Co-founded by retired British Airways cabin crew member Patricia Pearce MBE, Dreamflight is a registered UK charity that changes young lives by taking seriously ill and disabled children from all over the UK on a life-changing holiday to Orlando. Dreamflight, which has operated every year since 1987, believes that fun and joy are just as important as medical research and equipment. A British Airways Boeing 747 is chartered once per year and children spend 10 magical days away from family, to discover independence, confidence, and a whole new outlook on life. Many could not undertake such a trip without the support of the army of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and non-medical volunteers who care for the children 24 hours a day.
Remarks: 1400 PX, with Dreamflight title. Dreamflight is a registered UK charity whose purpose is to send seriously ill children on their 'holiday of a lifetime' to Florida.
The original concept was devised in 1986 by Derek Pereira and Patricia Pearce, together with a small group of British Airways staff. Their dedication culminated in a Boeing 747 full of 288 sick children and their adult helpers, flying off to Florida for five magical days in November 1987. The original Dreamflight was only intended to be a 'one off' trip but the '87 flight was such a success that it has now become an annual event.
