Remarks: This picture for itself already says everything, his is the first Brazilian Boeing 737 and this operated continuosly by VASP since delivery in July 1969 till being impounded at Congonhas by the Brazilian CAA in September 2004 due to high cycles and pending maintenance issues. It is worth to mention that contrary to a popular "Internet Legend", PP-SMA was not sought by the "Boeing Museum" for display and neither it was the 737 model that flew longest with the same operator. It is a scene of breaking the heart.Dedicated to all the lovers, ex-employees and admirers of this magnify company.
Remarks: Another VASP from my "digital" vault. This is the famous PP-SMA, VASP first 737, which first flew from Boeing Field on April 21, 1969 - yes not from Renton (!!), becouse only from line number 271 was the 737 final assembly transfered to that city. 'SMA was the 161st Boeing 737 from the production line, operated continuosly by VASP since delivery in July 1969 till being impounded at Congonhas by the Brazilian CAA in September 2004 due to high cycles and pending maintenance issues. It is now STR at Belo Horizonte Confins Airport in all white cs, minus engines in a semi derelict state. It is worth to mention that contrary to a popular "Internet Legend", PP-SMA was not sought by the "Boeing Museum" for display and neither it was the 737 model that flew longest with the same operator. This title actually belongs to Air Madagascar which operated 737-2B2 5R-MFA (c/n 20231, l/n 204) from 1969 till 2006.
Remarks: Panning with a great sunset light, of VASP oldest B737-200, built in 1969. Now scrapped at Confins airport. Rest in peace, old warrior! [Canon EOS 300D]
Remarks: This aircraft has been in service for VASP since July 18th, 1969. Take a look at the tail and pay attention to the painting: she does not deserve it.
