Remarks: The leased 747 leads the way for part of Biman's active and inactive fleet. The F28s and the DC10 on the left were already out of service at the time. Only the DC10 on the right and the A310 in the hanger were active.
Remarks: If this shot isnt screaming out the features of a 747-400,the engines, the winglet and the lump!!!She suddenly left the fleet after a flight to Muscat.Air Atlanta Icelandic called back the aircraft from Muscat 10days before she was due to leave without informing Biman and leaving all the passengers and crew, funny thing is the pilots said they were parking to a different bay for refueling and after push back, they just left!!!Funny isnt it?[1600px]
Remarks: It is a -400 but note the missing winglet. It was removed after being damaged during a push back incident and has been flying around without that for a few weeks. What surprised me is the hole on the wingtip. I might be naive but I would have thought that they would put some sort of plug or something to make the air flow smooth, else that must generate some extra drag. But in reality BG operations/management is not known for efficiency or good thinking.... ;o)
Remarks: First photo on jp of her at her (current) home base. Most probably it was my last opportunity to capture her before she returns to her owner at the end of the lease.
