Remarks: Barrow's lovely terminal building basking in the warm sunshine of a mid-June morning! Err, yes. Don't mind the snowflakes dancing around - but hey, this is the northernmost US city after all!
Remarks: This 40-year old beauty can be seen speeding down Dawson's gravel runway in the pouring rain, on her flight to Old Crow, Fairbanks and back to Whitehorse
Remarks: Turning onto finals for the northernmost city in the USA, with the still largely frozen Arctic Ocean below. Completing a run to the villages of Atqasuk and Wainwright.
Remarks: Ready to rumble in a 60-year old classic! Goose 985R is ready on Dutch's Rwy30 for another hop over to Akutan as a Penair local flight. What an amazing experience!
Remarks: May I present: The airport with the shortest commercially serviceable runway in the world, located in a beautiful setting on an unspoilt and breathtaking little island. Welcome to Saba!
One of the four daily Winair flights is backtracking the 1'300ft/400m runway prior to its hop back to SXM.
Remarks: As the first ever commercial A380 flight out of our Airport, SQ345 is departing from Rwy16 in front of lots of spectators. I'm very happy that the small city of Zurich was able to secure an A380 service at such an early stage, being only the third airport in Europe to see these birds. Welcome, A380!
Remarks: Oops! Little mishap here during unloading. But I'm sure that's nothing for this little bird, which is used to rough conditions flying shuttles between Chatham and Pitt islands. First shot in DB.
Remarks: Back home and turning finals 23, after a 2-hour flight over open waters, from Auckland via Napier. This workhorse was built 1956 - meaning it is twice as old as me and still going strong!
First photo of NZCI in the DB by the way!
