Remarks: Our speeds were almost perfectly matched as our tracks converged just before entering US airspace. These over-the-wing, aerodynamically induced contrails are a rare sight (as opposed to the more common place engine contrails).
Remarks: The New Doha Intl Airport (NDIA). It looks like most of the pavement is complete, but there's still a lot of work to be done - especially on the passenger terminal.
Remarks: Ready to push for a 13+ hour flight to MEL. The Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) - on the far left/right of the frame - have made easy work of sorting out the charts. Charts for any airport in the world are now only a few clicks away.
Remarks: Jeddah Intl from 34000ft. We usually fly directly overhead JED, making it impossible to get a decent photo, but today we were vectored north of the field allowing us to get a few snaps.
Remarks: Passing 2000ft below us as we approach Khartoum. Turns out that we were both heading for the same destination on the Atlantic coast of Africa.
Remarks: The tower at TIP as seen from taxiway 'S'. A new tower is under construction about 500m east of this one. A new terminal is also under construction at the airport.
