Remarks: Nice to see one of Niki's Airbusses that are already wearing the new HG/AB mix-colours. Nevertheless, I will miss the eyecatching colours with the silver fly that is also presenting the safety video with Niki Lauda's voice. Each summer season Niki offers a lot of flights to Europe's best known holiday destinations Crete-Heraklion, Corfu, Kos, Rhodes, Hurghada, Ibiza, Antalya and Sharm El Sheikh. The Airline is also operating a schedule to Palma de Mallorca several times a week.
Remarks: Taxiing out to depart Reina Sofia Intl Airport via 08. The new Thomson colours remind me of a rough Atlantic Ocean not far off this airport. This 757 has already been used by many airlines: Starting with British Airways (1999-2002) it was operated by Air 2000 and First Choice Airways (2002-2008). During this time the aircraft was leased to SkyService for serveral times (Registration: C-FLEU). Finally, Thomson Airways is the current operating airline.
Remarks: Overview of the main part of "Los Rodeos" Airport (TFN/GCXO): You can see the airport buildings with the two control towers (the old one to the left and the new one to the right) and the main passenger terminal. Together with Las Palmas Intl. Airport (Gran Canaria) TFN is the main base of the regional airline Binter Canarias/Naysa. In this picture, five out of eighteen ATR-72 Turboprops are parked at the apron. Binter offers flights to all the other Canary Islands, to Funchal/Madeira and to the Western Sahara. Tenerife Norte is also used as the islands main cargo airport, therefore you can see some cargo airplanes operated by Swiftair (733F) and Gestair (752F) in a "cold-and-dark" parking-situation. The photo was taken on a small hill between a big amount of flowers next to the airport's taxiway Echo 4 (not visible) - former known as Charlie 4, where the world's worst airplane crash took place in 1977.
Remarks: Taxiing into parking position after arrival via 08. The photo was taken from the rear of the aircraft at seat 29F aboard flight HG 2598 from Salzburg (SZG/LOWS). We had a delay of about half an hour. The reason for this was the de-icing processing at SZG, because of the freezing temperatures in and around Austria. Fortunately, the weather conditions at Tenerife are quite a lot better than at home: about 25°C outside temperatures, hardly any clouds but some very strong winds coming from the east. Take a look to the palm trees and you can see them. Special thanks to my spotting collegue Mr. Martin Nimmervoll for taking a great photo of us during engine-startup at Salzburg in the morning. This photo is dedicated to you.
Remarks: This Saab 340A Turboprop arrived at Linz Airport the day before inbound from Lublin-Swidnik (LUZ/EPLB), Poland. After spending a night at the airport's apron it is now taxiing to 08 for departure back to its origin destination. Although the aircraft's livery doesn't look that extremely nice within this horrible weather conditions, it is nice to see some aircraft-movements like this.
Remarks: A Do-328 turboprop is resting at Linz Airport, parking position 22W, waiting for its first flight this day. Air Alps has based some aircraft at LNZ to operate the main part of the schedules to VIE on behalf of the Austrian Airlines Group. This summer, OE-LKH mainly flew these legs, but also sister aircraft OE-LKA and Welcome Air's Do-328 OE-LIR can be seen many times a day. Special thanks to the airport's ground-operating-team!
Remarks: Engine-startup during another golden autumn sunset. In the background you can see a SunExpress Boeing 737-800. Both aircraft operate two of the last summer-season charter flights to Antalya.
Remarks: The moment of rotation. This Airbus A320, named "Polka", departs LNZ as flight HG 3726 to Palma de Mallorca via 26. The late afternoon sunlight puts a nice "dark effect" on the aircraft's fuselage.
Remarks: Carrying skiing tourists from the Austrian Alpes back home to Ukraine. Departing SZG via 34 at the beginning of a very beautiful spotting day.
