Remarks: ZS-SXD (cn 643) [Canon 7D + Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM] The South African Airways London 2012 Olympics A340-300, taking off just in time, as the sun hits the horizon.
Remarks: [Canon 5D Mark III + Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM] "Hong Kong Trader" sits on a wet ramp in Miami, with the new Tampa Cargo A330-200F in the background. This photo was a bit of a challenge to take, as I needed to set up very quickly and keep the exposure time short, to prevent the blowing rain and mist from hitting the lens' front element.
Remarks: [Canon 1D Mark IV + Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L] Copa has introduced a new service, where passengers may choose to be dropped off at Maho Beach to save some valuable deplaning time ;-)
Remarks: [Canon 7D + Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM] On September 26, 2012, this TAM A330-200 made a tower fly-by on Runway 22R, following a go-around on Runway 22L. The tower confirmed that the nose gear was stuck perpendicular to the plane, and the A330 set up for an approach to Runway 31L, with emergency vehicles standing by. As the main gear touched, the nose gear moved back to its normal position, and the aircraft rolled out safely.
Remarks: [Canon 5D Mark III + Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM] "Cloud Nine" Class seating in Ethiopian Airlines' first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft made a stop at Washington Dulles International Airport during its delivery flight.
Remarks: [Canon 7D + Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM] The latest configuration of the 747 includes two General Electric GEnx engines stacked on top of each other ;-) Lufthansa's newest Boeing 747-8, taking off into the sunset.
Remarks: [Canon 5D Mark III + Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II] Roman Abramovich's "The Bandit", about to turn 180 degrees to complete the back-taxi, and depart to TAPA to re-park. The ramp at TNCM gets very full during the holiday season, making it necessary for many planes to fly elsewhere to park for extended amounts of time.
Remarks: [Canon 5D Mark III + Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II] There's nothing quite like having a Mad Dog fly overhead, in front of a beautiful Caribbean sunset.
