Remarks: As my ride back to Singapore gets serviced, a Polar Air Cargo 747-8F in the hybrid DHL livery arrives in the background from Cincinnati via Anchorage. [Canon EOS 40D + Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC IF Macro]
Remarks: An ultra wide-angle perspective of the 777F. "Abbi" was resting prior to her flight back to Memphis via Dubai, with her nose wheels weighed down to prevent the tail from tipping. Gotta love those raked wingtips! [Canon EOS 40D + Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM]
Remarks: Photo dedicated to the very friendly crew! Note the Mumbai airport layout diagram on the Captain and First Officer sides. Many thanks to the pilots for the photo opportunity. [Canon EOS 40D + Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM]
Remarks: Breathtaking overview of HKIA - one of the largest and busiest passenger and cargo hubs in Asia! 12 Boeing 747s (including 4 747-8Fs), 3 MD-11Fs, 2 A330Fs, 3 A300Fs and a sole 777F can be seen on the cargo ramp in the foreground, as well as the Hong Kong Air Freight Terminal and the huge Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal on the right of the frame. I lost count of the airplanes at the passenger terminal! Many thanks to Michael Brazier for his editing help. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM]
Remarks: Business Class on SQ's refurbished 777s. I'm a fan of this conventional seat layout in Business Class as compared to the cramped and claustrophobic herringbone configurations. [Canon EOS 40D + Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM]
Remarks: 1/60s panning on SG 2115 to Chandigarh. This aircraft is named "Jaiphal", which means nutmeg in Hindi. ATR's long standing monopoly of the Indian turboprop market is now threatened by these beautiful Q400s, which are giving them a run for their money! [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM]
Remarks: Close encounters of the heavy kind! "Virgin 300" makes a greaser of an entrance on arrival from London-Heathrow. A few seconds later, the smell of burnt rubber hit me! "Indian Princess" is the oldest A340-600 in Virgin's fleet, and still in the old colours. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 70-200mm f/4L USM]
Remarks: OZ 768 pushed back for engine start and departure to Seoul. My first time shooting this rather exotic airline! Asiana was rated the world's second best airline and one of only six 5-star airlines by Skytrax for 2012. Many thanks to Michael Brazier for his editing help. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM]
Remarks: "Go Air 117" speeds down the runway for departure to Bangalore. I think the sharklets look great! [Canon EOS 40D + EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM]
Remarks: Now that is what you call attention to detail! A closer look at Air India's "Palace in the Sky" theme, with intricate, traditional window frames replicated from Rajasthani palaces painted around the windows. Pushback complete and engine start approved for AI 348 to Shanghai Pudong. [Canon EOS 40D + EF 70-200mm f/4L]
Remarks: A different perspective of your regular A319. Check out those beautiful reflections on the spotless fuselage! Since Paro airport, Druk Air's home base, is VFR-only with no night landing facilities, the airline overnights its airplanes and crews at its international destinations, so that they can arrive back in Paro in daylight. This one will fly back as KB 205 in the morning. Many thanks to Michael Brazier for his editing help. [Canon EOS 40D + Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM]
Remarks: The former Queen of the Skies resplendent in her night glory! I think KLM's beautiful livery is perfect for the 747. The taxi lights come on as "City of Johannesburg" is all set for its departure back to Amsterdam. Delhi receives 747s from KLM during the winter schedule to cater to the additional demand, which is otherwise taken care of by an A330. Many thanks to Michael Brazier for his editing help.
