Remarks: 2 days before the 2013 Ky. Derby, are friends Nick & Bob watching landing aircraft for 17R, with a towed banner in the background flying over Churchill Downs just to the Northwest of the airport. Great spot, 38.186478, - 85.744192.
Remarks: Formerly DHL G-DHLJ, now belongs to Atlas Air. Crazy looking logo they have up front there. I guess they will repaint it later. Sorry for the cloudy conditions. Landing 18C.
Remarks: Formerly Delta Airlines from 1986 - 2007, returned to lessor, then in 2009 converted to SF for Capital Cargo in Miami, Fl. Here she is landing on a runway ( 18R) that I haven't photographed in about 3-4 years due to slowed economy, etc. Pilot requested runway 18R for training purposes I think. After the tower cleared him for landing, it took him for ever to bring it home. I thought he got lost. It was worth the wait and I'm glad he made the runway change.
Remarks: Evening arrival to CVG. Just heard Frontier starting regular service to Denver in May 2013. Check the little streaks in the sky. Those are birds that are blurred due to the fast panning in the opposite direction.
